‘Funny thing – when we tell someone in the movie industry that we’re making an indie film, they want to know who is working on it. When we tell someone in the theatre business that we’re making an indie film, they want to know who is starring in it. When we tell someone in the video business that we’re making an indie film, they want to know what kind of camera we’re using. And since more and more people with a video mindset are jumping into the movie-making process, we’ve got a lot of people asking us what kind of camera we’re using. Some people are even more specific, and want to know if we’re using the 5D or the 7. Oh, please….what we’re using is probably going to surprise (and possibly even mystify) some people, and how we’re doing things will probably raise some eyebrows as well. On the other hand, we’re learned a lot, we’re learning more all the time, and we’re perfectly willing to share.
And that is the jumping-off point of this blog – there are sure to be times when other film-makers will be watching Dreamer and wondering “what the hell was this guy thinking when he did that?” Maybe there was a reason, maybe there wasn’t…I’ll be explaining things as the project goes along, and you can always ask me anything you want. The ‘Dreamer’ project is a conversation, both on and off-camera. This project has been a long time coming, and the delivery will probably last awhile. I’m looking forward to it. …Cheers -S
